A Roero Arneis that is springtime in a bottle

April 30, 2019

Vietti, Roero, Arneis DOCG 2017

This wine caught us completely by surprise.

Vietti is one of the great Italian houses, known for world-class reds- Nebbiolo, Barolo, Barbaresco- wines to drink, wines to put in the cellar. The labels are beautifully provocative. Vietti is a class act all around.

But the Roero Arneis (Arneis is the grape, Roero the region) is so completely unique, so mind-bending it will just blow you away! The bouquet just leaps out of the glass. Flowers, herbs, ripe fruit- it’s all here. And it’s all good.

91 points from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate:
"... aromas of bright citrus, white peach, wild sage ..." and "... charming and refreshing ..."

If you want to get fancy, pair it with a simple shrimp and fennel risotto.

But trust us, this is springtime in a bottle. Pop it and enjoy!
