TASTING NOTES

(with thanks to Dr. Reed Day). A highly complex nose offers up plenty of sous-bois, sauvage and Gevrey-style earth along with hints of smoked meat and truffle. There is an intense minerality to the rich and well-detailed middleweight flavors that initially displayed a bit of tannic dryness on the otherwise long finish. However, as the wine sat in the glass the tannins softened and while they did not disappear completely, with food they did not detract materially from the overall enjoyment. Tasted thrice with largely consistent notes as all of them merited between 92 and 93 points.
