Boudot believes that the '99 Combettes is the finest example he has ever made though the 2000 version is every bit its equal in my view. This simply explodes from the glass with classic Puligny aromas of white flowers, green apple scents and a touch of citrus aromas that lead to big, rich, sappy, concentrated flavors of incredible distinction yet for all the size and richness, there is a wonderful sense of finesse and elegance. The most complete wine to this point as it is harmonious and perfectly integrated. This too is really something to behold and indisputably delivers a grand cru performance.
