Gorgeous, this seemingly relies more on pure, driven plum, raspberry and cherry fruit than other vintages—until the finish takes over, where dark briar patch, sweet tapenade and mesquite notes assert themselves authoritatively. Ends with nice tension between the two sides. This should meld together a bit more slowly than the 2001.
