I was a bit surprised as to how mature this was given both the vintage and the large bottle format. To be clear, this is still fresh but the nose has clearly begun to display some secondary fruit character as well as ample amounts of Vosne spice. There is good richness to the very supple and delicious middle weight flavors that offer reasonably good depth and length. While certainly perfectly respectable, this lacks the necessary focus to be at the next level and I would be drinking this up over the next few years though I underscore that there is no rush.
