Bright full ruby. Pungent aromas of cassis, black cherry, licorice, bitter chocolate and shoe polish. Sweeter, fuller and riper than the '99, with enticing black cherry and mineral flavors. The tannins also seem a bit tough, but here they spread out to coat the entire palate. Finishes with a late note of dark chocolate.
