About BOND

A portfolio of wines that are diverse in their geographic representation and 'Grand Cru' in quality, all under the umbrella of one philosophy, one team, one mark.

Bond is our covenant with select vineyard estates and shared commitment to produce only the best expression of the land.

Sourced from select hillside estates, the Cabernet Sauvignon wines of BOND vividly demonstrate the range of Napa Valley's finest terroirs. From the more than eighty vineyards they have worked with over the past quarter century, they have slowly and vigilantly selected five sites. BOND became their covenant and shared commitment to produce only the best expression of the land.

By way of this valuable experience, they had the opportunity to identify select properties that they felt had the potential to define the ‘Grand Crus’ of Napa Valley. These small hillside Cabernet vineyards, ranging in size from 7 to 11 acres, became the basis for the wines of BOND.

About Pluribus

PLURIBUS expresses the character of an estate located at an elevation over 1,100 feet on the dramatic slopes of Spring Mountain.

The name refers to the Latin word for many, and was chosen to signify the various facets involved in creating a fine wine: from the sun, soil, and climate of a vineyard, to the team of people who guide a wine through its evolution. A breathtaking mountainous 7-acre site with steep exposures to the north, east and southeast, the soil is comprised of volcanic bedrock. Pluribus, which debuted in the 2003 vintage, is defined as a bold, rich and concentrated wine; elements of dark plum, roasted coffee, and scents of cedar are inherent throughout the vintages.

SOIL: Decomposed volcanic material. Surrounded by a conifer forest. North and East Exposure.

ELEVATION: 1,137-1,327 feet

About the 2016 Vintage

Budbreak began in late March. Bloom followed in sync, yet veraison came much later than normal. This delay helped the site to weather the heat spells in August, and as cool fog approached, the grapes were in pristine condition for harvest in the last third of September.

The Pluribus location on the mid slopes of Spring Mountain provides a unique lens through which to view the vintage. The nose of the 2016 is dark, with hints of spice and earth. An immediate energy electrifies the palate, as the wine’s many layers surface in staccato. This sensation ultimately expands and then softens, extending for a seamless and persistent finish.

Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate

[ 99 Points ] Pluribus vineyard is situated on Spring Mountain, producing a sometimes broody wine in its youth with tons of latent power and energy waiting to
erupt. Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Pluribus is a little closed and youthfully mute to begin, slowly unfurling to offer glimpses at baked plums, crushed blackcurrants, boysenberries and redcurrant jelly plus suggestions of charcoal, black olives, Sichuan pepper and bay leaves with a waft of pain grille. Full-bodied, it has a rock-solid frame of very firm, ripe, grainy tannins and bold freshness supporting the muscular black fruit and savory accents, finishing with phenomenal length and loads of earthy layers.
