The 2015 Cuvée Jean is a beauty, wafting from the glass with aromas of ripe plums, cassis, raw cocoa, subtle licorice and cracked black pepper. On the palate, it's full-bodied, rich and layered, with beautifully velvety tannins, a sapid core of fruit and a long, savory finish. Textural and lavish but complex and controlled, this superb Syrah should enjoy a long drinking window.
