Classic ruby color with only slight lightening at the rim. An expressive nose speaks of still mostly primary aromas of lavender, violet and a mix of ripe red and black fruit cut with subtle earth notes. The palate impression is that of a big, muscular, robust and powerful wine that is impressively concentrated and impressively long with a mouth coating and chewy but not hard or drying finish. I like the complexity and while this is still on the younger side, with air it could be enjoyed now. Tasted thrice since release with similar notes save for a bottle tasted in March 2019 (shipped directly from the domaine) that displayed brett-like elements.
