As is typical of many '01 whites, there are slight exotic notes that combine with smoky and very fresh fruit aromas followed by rich, round and forward medium full flavors that offer good punch and a racy finish but not the depth of material possessed by the '02. This is however delicious and serious, all wrapped in edgy but ripe acidity.
