TASTING NOTES

Concentrated purple. There is a slight new oak reduction, toasty, apparently this happens every year and will disappear at the racking. Then a sublime coating of a rich velvet texture, in an oaky envelope, with an immensely long finish, succulent ripe fruit, gorgeous. The parallel between Musigny and Château Margaux pops into my mind.

Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy.

A blend of the original parcel and the new postage-stamp-sized acquisition between de Vogüé and Roumier. The palate is pure class, with filigreed tannin, wonderful focus, firm grip and a very mineral-driven finish. Outstanding.

Neil Martin, Vinous.

Quite a structured, ambitious wine with comparatively dense tannins, some smoky reduction and a meaty undertone. It needs a year or two in bottle to show its class.

Decanter.
