Mikulski has been operating this Meursault 1 er Cru "Les Poruzots" Dessus vineyard since 1992 in half sharecropping (50% of the harvest for the owner, 50% of the harvest for the tenant). Its surface area is 62 acres; it is exposed East on the Meursault hillside. The Chardonnay vines are about 50 years old. It is cultivated in non-certified organic culture and produces around 2400 bottles.
The subsoil is composed of a brown layer of horizontal silt of about thirty centimeters, placed on a base of cracked rock. The silt has seeped into the rock and allows for moisture storage as well as the deep development of the root system.
Our aging with few new barrels (20%) and the rest in barrels of one, two and three wines makes it possible to preserve the expression of the Terroir.
This vine produces an elegant, fine, dynamic wine, more "feminine" than the other 1er crus. A very nice minerality is always present, whatever the vintage. It is a wine to drink between 5 and 10 years of age.
