Archaeological findings confirm the ancient village of Chassagne used to be occupied by a Roman society. The Romans planted the vines and built the city, hence the name “Romanée.” This vineyard is one of four under the Grand Montagne vineyard designation. A .8 ha parcel of vines planted in 1957 at the higher altitude of Chassagne. Aged in 15 months in 228 et 350L oak barrels.
