The bouquet is ripe and quite generous, offering pure scents of maraschino cherries, wild strawberry and veins of blueberry. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chewy tannins, good depth and grip and a touch of brown spices toward the finish, which delivers good length. Very fine – and good luck finding a bottle.
Neil Martin, Vinous.
This is unusually high-toned and particularly so for the vintage with its blend of red currant, cherry, raspberry and pretty floral wisps. The lilting and energetic middle weight flavors are finer still though without the same power and taut muscularity while delivering solid length on the balanced and moderately firm finale.
Allen Meadows, Burghound.
