Just a hint of volatile acidity that also serves to add a bit of lift to the liqueur-like aromas of plum, cassis and port. The exceptionally rich, full-bodied and tautly muscular flavors brim with palate soaking dry extract that also buffers the exceptionally firm tannic spine shaping the powerful, serious and impressively long finish where the only nit is a hint of warmth.
Allen Meadows, Burghound.
Tank sample. Ripe and seductive, rich in red fruits. Firm, chalky, deep in texture. Not quite as fresh as the Morey La Riotte but the fruit is bright enough to fill out the serious structure.
