Stylistically similar to the Referts as this is spicy, rich, expressive, generous and full-bodied yet delivers the fine focus and detail that the Referts does not and the 2001 Champs Canet finishes with terrific persistence on the sappy backend. This is a mouthful of wine with plenty of flavor authority yet it remains beautifully well-balanced. Lovely stuff.
