Here too the pretty nose is both cool and elegant with its aromas of dark berry liqueur, poached plum and floral scents. Once again there is an appealing sleekness to the slightly bigger-bodied yet still refined flavors that exude a subtle salinity onto the detailed, powerful and focused finish that also possesses a touch of youthful austerity.

One of the more extravagant aromatics with black plummy fruit, damson pie, briary and a smear of marmalade. The oak regime seems simpatico with the fruit intensity. The palate is medium-bodied with rather chewy tannins. Plenty of weight here.
Cask sample. Some appetising meatiness on the nose of this. Juicy fruit buried in here but at the moment it is playing the ambition card with massive structure. Probably a wise course.
