TASTING NOTES

This delivers a very tightly focused, almost piercing beam of cassis, raspberry coulis and bitter cherry fruit, scored with singed alder and iron notes. Incense and tobacco details chime in on the finish. Long and refined, with the fruit leaving a sweet and mouthwatering echo.

James Molesworth, Wine Spectator.

Softly layered in cassis, it shows lifted acidity and graceful, firm tannins. Spicy nutmeg and clove season the fruit, adding length and complexity.

Virginie Boone, Wine Enthusiast.

This offers attractive, ripe black-cherry and plum aromas, leading to a palate that has a plush, fleshy and supple array of smooth, soft and ripe blackcurrant flavors. This has more to come.

James Suckling, jamessuckling.com

Black cherry, menthol, lavender, spice and dried flowers all develop enticingly in the glass. Bright and focused with plenty of supporting structure, the 2016 is extremely expressive.

Antonio Galloni, Vinous.

It has a beautiful, slightly herbal bouquet of crème de cassis, lead pencil, damp earth, and tobacco that develops nicely with time in the glass. Playing in the medium-bodied end of the spectrum, it stays reserved and nicely focused on the palate and has impressive purity of fruit, fine tannins, and a good finish.
