A wonderfully expressive nose features knockout aromas of spice, cool kirsch, raspberries and red pinot fruit along with enough earth character to notice. There is fine complexity to the refined, supple and precise yet quite powerful medium full-bodied flavors that are intensely focused and extraordinarily long with firm though not hard finishing structure. While more expansive and generous than it was when I initially reviewed it (see herein), it remains quite youthful and will need another 4 to 7 years to arrive at its peak. A most impressive effort of real class and breed that should see its 25th birthday in fine form.  (7/2013)
