Bright lemon-yellow color. Deep, ripe aromas of spring flowers, clove oil and mint, with subtle hints of stone fruits. Fat, round and supple, with wonderfully sweet, seductive flavors of lemon cream, flowers and spices. Subtle, classy and mouthfilling. Then explosively rich and strong on the long, building finish and high levels of acidity.
Stephen Tanzer, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar.
Wonderful focus on ripe, structured pear, pineapple and earthy citrus flavors, which unfold gracefully to reveal subtle flavor and textural nuances. Oak plays a small role, giving the wine a flash of smoke and toast. Lovely aftertaste.
James Laube, Wine Spectator.
Lemony honeyed grapefruit, orange rind, and buttered citrus aromas are accompanied by subtle notions of liquid stones, roasted almonds, and a long, medium to full-bodied finish with refreshing levels of acidity. As with all of the Kistler Chardonnays, it is elegant, restrained, nuanced, yet intensely flavorful.
Robert Parker, Wine Advocate.
