The 2011 Pinot Noir is a bigger, more overt wine than the 2010, despite being a full percentage lower in alcohol. A blast of dark red fruit, tobacco, game and spices hits the palate in this expressive, resonant wine. The 2011 is totally different in style than the 2010, partially because of the use of 25% whole clusters. A bit wild today, the 2011 could use another 6-12 months to come together, but it is already pretty impressive. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018.
