The 2014 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru comes from the domaine's 0.63-hectares of 45- to 50-year-old vines located in the lieu dit "Grand Maupertui" and "Quatier des Marei Haut" close to the ch?teau. It has a punchy, redcurrant, cranberry and raspberry-scented bouquet with a touch of leather originating from the new oak that will need three or four years to fully integrate. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannin on the entry, good depth, quite muscular for a Clos Vougeot, but with impressive persistence on the finish. I still found myself wanting just a little more to come through, so afford this a few years in bottle.
