TASTING NOTES

Full-bodied, dense and layered. Phenolic tension. Compacted and very, very impressive.

James Suckling, jamessuckling.com

This Bâtard is superb, with a complex and expressive bouquet of nutmeg, mint, yellow orchard fruit and candied citrus peel. The palate is full-bodied, concentrated and expansive, with bright acids and an abundance of chewy extract.

WK, Decanter.

Creamy and alluring, featuring floral, peach, lemon curd, citronella and mineral flavors meshing beautifully with the vibrant structure. Turns toasty and smoky, building to a long, harmonious aftertaste.

Wine Spectator.

A pungent nose consists of wood toast and reduction. There is a lovely sense of energy and freshness to the surprisingly refined broad-shouldered flavors that display focused power and seriously good length on the balanced, dry and sappy finish. This is more refined than usual and a wine that should age exceptionally well.

Allen Meadows, Burghound.

A little more lemon yellow in the colour, also some yellow plum notes, a certain opulence on the attack, then a slight youthful bitterness.

Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy.
This is rich, exotic and complex with plenty of leesy weight underpinned by acidity and minerality. More sumptuous than the Domaine Leflaive Bâtard in 2016,
