Ser is an artisanal winery based out of Santa Cruz, CA, specializing in varietal, vineyard designate, old world style wines, produced in a natural way to allow the expression of their varietal character and the vineyards from which they are sourced.
John Smith Vineyard is located in the Diablo Moutain range of San Benito county. The vines are 20 years old grown on clay loam soils with minimal to no irrigation.
The wine: Bursting with fruit and floral notes, integrated acidity with a balsamic background giving the wine a mouth watering finish.
The production: 5-6 day cold soak, indigenous yeast fermentation in 1 ton fermenters. 6 day maceration post fermentation. Pressed to neutral french oak puncheon for 18 months.
